Dinamo Sassari, Piero Bucchi sounds the charge for Champions League debut
Piero Bucchi spurs Dinamo for Champions League debut
Piero Bucchi, coach of Dinamo Sassari, presented the challenge against Malaga in a press conference, which is valid for the first day of the new Basketball Champions League season.
At first Bucchi expressed his feelings about the competition and opponents: “The Champions League is a competition of great charm and quality that has come very close in values to the Eurocup. We are going to face a difficult round with the utmost determination and will to do well. Malaga is a team of the highest level with twelve real players and with the possibility of competing to go all the way. We definitely want to play a good game, but we have to work hard to compete against a team of this level.”
The Italian coach then added a thought on the engagements just past: “We are coming off a very good Super Cup, we just missed the final kick, but many positive aspects remain. It is a very tough league, the balance is thin, every match hides many pitfalls and we knew it would be difficult. The first day of the championship, with a couple of exceptions, was very tight.”
“Malaga is very good but I expect from my team the will to fight and to make a good performance that will help us build more certainties, something we have not been able to do with continuity in the preseason,” he concluded.
