Italy, Gennaro Gattuso’s call-ups: two returns and two novelties

Italy coach Gennaro Gattuso has summoned 27 players for the meeting set for the evening of Monday, Oct. 6, at the Centro Tecnico Federale in Coverciano ahead of the two 2026 World Cup qualifying matches with Estonia (Saturday, Oct. 11 at 8:45 p.m. in Tallinn) and Israel (Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 8:45 p.m. at ‘Bluenergy Stadium’ in Udine).
The Italian team has been called up for the first time.
First call-up to the national team for Fiorentina midfielder Hans Nicolussi Caviglia and Bologna striker Nicolò Cambiaghi, while Matteo Gabbia and Bryan Cristante, absent since October and June 2024, respectively, return to the Azzurri jersey.
