Jannik Sinner gets off to a good start in Shanghai: Altmaier ruled in two sets
Jannik Sinner gets off on the right foot in the Shanghai Masters 1000, where he defends the title he won in 2024. The world number two beat German Daniel Altmaier, number 49 on the planet, in two sets with a score of 6-3, 6-3 in an hour and 38 minutes of play.
The Blue, who didn’t have to struggle too much on his debut on a very different court than in Beijing, will face in the third round of the Chinese tournament Tallon Griekspoor of the Netherlands, who overcame US player Brooksby in three sets.
The first set runs smoothly for the world number two, who finds the break in the third game and keeps it until the end.
