F1, Ferrari: Jenson Button’s verdict on the Redhead’s negative period

Starting out with great ambitions, Ferrari’s season is becoming increasingly anonymous, and the recent performances of Charles Leclerc (never more than fourth place in the last five races) and Lewis Hamilton (never on the podium with the Redhead in long races, one win and one third place in Sprints) are making fans and insiders discuss.

Among them there are those who are rather harsh on the Maranello-based Scuderia, such as Jenson Button: the 2009 world champion with Brawn GP, speaking to ‘Sky Sports UK’, expressed his thoughts in no uncertain terms about Ferrari. “You can&#8217t race with the fear of making mistakes: at Ferrari, the feeling is that everyone feels they can easily be put through the door. It doesn&#8217t have to be pretty”.

For Button, the problem is not the people themselves: “We need consistency within the team, everyone must feel mutual trust, starting with the drivers. I hope the team remains the same next season: it is a great reality, with solid leadership and a pair of drivers with few rivals”.

With six races to go before the conclusion of the 2025 World Championship, Ferrari is fighting for the podium in the constructors’ championship (already won by McLaren, for the other two positions there are, in addition to the Redhead, Mercedes and Red Bull), while in the drivers’ championship it seems to be shaping up, barring any shakeups in the final weeks of the season, fifth place overall for Charles Leclerc and sixth for Lewis Hamilton.
