Jannik Sinner, candid admission about chasing the top of the rankings

Journing earlier this week in Paris after his triumph in Vienna, Jannik Sinner spoke at a press conference Tuesday making clear one of his goals, regaining the top ranking he lost after the U.S. Open to Carlos Alcaraz. The South Tyrolean, however, does not want to make it an obsession, quite the contrary.

“Honestly, I think it is impossible to return to No. 1 this year’admitted the outfielder from Sesto Pusteria.”

With 65 weeks, total and consecutive weeks at the top of the ATP rankings, Jannik Sinner is currently 12th on the all-time list in total weeks at the top and 11th in consecutive weeks. Sinner is also one of only 19 players to finish the calendar year (2024, in his case) at No. 1 in the men&#8217s ranking since the ranking was introduced in 1973.
