Paris Masters 1000, Jannik Sinner disposes of Ben Shelton and flies to semifinals

Jannik Sinner, world No. 2, beat No. 7, Ben Shelton of the United States, with a double 6-3 victory in the quarterfinals of the Paris Masters 1000 on the indoor concrete of the Defense Arena.
The first break points, two consecutive, Shelton canceled at 1-1 in the first set. On 2-2 Sinner breaks serve from the U.S.: it is the break that steers the partial in favor of Jannik, who on 5-3 takes the serve away from the U.S. a second time and closes the partial on the second set point.

Sinner dominated Shelton despite experiencing physical problems in the opening moments of the match. Ota in the semifinals, the 24-year-old South Tyrolean will face the winner of the match between Russia’s Daniil Medvedev and Germany’s Alexander Zverev.
