Jannik Sinner folds Felix Auger-Aliassime in Paris final and returns world No. 1

In the final of the Paris Masters 1000, on the Defense Arena’s indoor concrete Center Court, Jannik Sinner beat Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, currently number 10 in the world, with a score of 6-4 7-6 in one hour and 52 minutes of play.
Break in Sinner’s favor as early as in the first game of the match, throughout the rest of the first set there were no other break points and notably Jannik lost only three points in five turnovers.
It is always Auger-Aliassime who is in danger of losing his serve: in the second set he cancels two break points in the first game and three more, including two consecutive ones, in the seventh.
We eventually go to the tie-break and it is a minibreak in Sinner’s favor at 2-2 that decides it. The South Tyrolean wins his 23rd ATP major circuit tournament, fifth Masters 1000, fifth tournament of the season and first in Paris indoors.
But above all, the Sesto Pusteria outfielder with this success takes back the throne of world number 1 snatching it from his friend-rival Carlos Alcaraz. Auger-Aliassime, on the other hand, will be No. 8 tomorrow ahead of Lorenzo Musetti, with whom he continues his run to the ATP Finals in Turin.
