Juventus, new assignment for Giorgio Chiellini

New appointment for former defender and now Juventus manager Giorgio Chiellini. The Euro 2020 champion was elected as a Figc councilor at the Lega Serie A Assembly in Lissone.

Juventus’ Director of Football Strategy is the third director appointed by the top professional league within the Federal Council, and will join Giuseppe Marotta, president of Inter, and Stefano Campoccia, vice-president of Udinese.

Chiellini beat two major rivals such as Sassuolo’ad of Sassuolo Giovanni Carnevali and Lecce president Saverio Sticchi Damiani.

The’former Tuscan defender left playing soccer on Dec. 12, 2023, after a two-year stint at Los Angeles FC. In his career he wore the shirts of Livorno, Fiorentina and Juventus: in bianconero he won nine Scudetti and five Coppe Italia.
