Lazio market, Maurizio Sarri cuts short on expiring Biancocelesti players

While waiting to see if Lazio will be able to resume operations in the market after the stop imposed last summer, Maurizio Sarri addressed the’topic during the press conference for the presentation of Inter-Lazio, explaining that one of the most important points to be resolved depends on the players with expiring contracts who have not yet renewed.
“We are waiting for the club – said Sarri -If it confirms that the market is open, then we can reason about renewals. There are several players on the roster now close to expiration who would be worth renewing, unless you want to spend a hundred million to replace them when possible. This is the talk, in the end: for the rest, the d.s. Fabiani” will speak.
There are as many as seven Lazio players with contracts expiring on June 30, 2026: defenders Dimitrije Kamenovic, Elseid Hysaj and Adam Marusic, midfielders Matias Vecino and Toma Basic (one of Sarri’s most appreciated players, as the coach himself recently explained), and strikers Pedro and Boulaye Dia.
The difficulty of a roster built without being able to make incoming market was manifested in the very early stages of Lazio’s championship, which, however, after the derby knockout has not lost since: since September 29, in fact, successes with Genoa, Juventus and Cagliari have come, in addition to draws with Torino, Atalanta and Pisa. After Inter there will be a break, then the biancocelesti will play at home with Lecce on November 23.
