Roberto Mancini has commented on the draw for the qualifying rounds for Euro 2024. The Azzurri have been placed in Group C with England, Ukraine, North Macedonia and Malta.

The national team’s technical commissioner said to the microphones of Rai Sport, “I was sure that we would take one of England or France, but that’s also fine. It’s an affordable group of five, they won’t all be easy matches but they are all to be played.”

Mancini then joked about the challenge with the English: “With England it will be the most beautiful challenge. With Southgate we know each other well but if it continues like this we are doing quite well, I don’t know if he will agree. North Macedonia? It’s one of those matches that happen every now and then, as we saw in Palermo the matches must all be played, even the easiest ones.”
