An interesting new adventure for Fabio Lopez, the globetrotting coach who never ceases to amaze and is appreciated for his competence and ability to adapt in any situation even far from Italy.

The Roman coach’s performance was secured by Fassell, a prestigious club in Liberia’s capital Monrovia, with whom he signed until the end of the season with an option for a second year.

Cassell Anthony Kuoh Sr., the club’s president and CEO, said he was thrilled that Lopez accepted the challenge of working for Fassell, which is the defending champion. “We want to restore dignity to our club. We believe that in the last month the team has had a drop in form and the pride that Liberians know us for has faded a bit,” he said.

“Thank you for welcoming me so graciously. I am very happy to be part of the FC Fassell family. I accepted this challenge because I know I am coming to the league&#8221 champion team; Lopez words.

The new Fassell coach, born in 1973, has worked in Lithuania, with a couple of top league clubs, in Malaysia, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia (in the prestigious Al-Ahli), Oman, Vietnam and, most recently, in South Africa. And, a medal few can display, he was also technical commissioner of a national team: Bangladesh. He will retain the same technical staff in his new team, including assistant coach Matthew Julutweh, who had taken over the role on an interim basis on Nov. 6.
