There&#8217s the signature of Alessandro Longoni, goalkeeper of the Milan Primavera team, on Italy&#8217s historic third place at the Under-17 World Cup in Doha, for what is the best result ever for the Azzurrini in the competition.

After the 0-0 accrued in the 90 minutes of the consolation final with Brazil (left in ten already in the 14th minute for the double yellow to Vitor Fernandes), the team coached by Massimiliano Favo won on penalties.

It was Alessandro Longoni who made the difference by neutralizing the shots of Pacheco, the Greenoro’s best player on the field, and Luis Eduardo, before the decisive penalty converted by Baralla.

L’Italy, despite being in numerical superiority for more than an’hour, struggled to create goal chances against a Brazil closed defensively with a 4-4-1 but in the final lottery from the penalty spot crowned a path made of six victories, before the semifinal lost to Austria.
