MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez spoke at the presentation of a docufilm dedicated to him (Volver), reiterating that he wants to continue winning after yet another stop in his career following a crash in Indonesia, when he had already bagged the MotoGP premier class world title anyway, the ninth of his career, as many as his great rival Valentino Rossi, the seventh in MotoGP after those of 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019, while in 2010 he won in 125 and in 2012 in Moto2. Ninth world title for Marc Marquez.
The Spaniard equaled Valentino Rossi.
Comparing numbers however leave the debate open.
The races held are 284 to 432, with Marquez still years ahead to close the gap.
Similar talk for wins (99 to 115) but overtaking could happen as early as 2026.
Wider gap in podiums: 165 to 235.
C'is however a statistic in which Marquez is already clearly ahead.
The Spaniard has already achieved 102 pole positions.
Valentino Rossi’s career has achieved only 65.
Marquez got it back.
The worst really seems to be over.
With this Ducati he could still dominate for a long time.
And if he hadn’t had all the injuries of the past years…

“I am recovering well – said Marquez -. If there are no setbacks, if I do everything right and follow advice, there will be no setbacks. I have to give up vacation because I have to prioritize recovery. But I will keep working to be in good shape for the start of the season. I have to prepare well for the 26th to try to win again. We have to do that. The pressure will be there, just like the other three or four riders who are in contention. We will see what the future holds for me. There are many things I have to handle, but I&#8217m looking forward to continuing. The point is that I always have to listen to my body”.

“Little things keep showing up: after so many crashes, as an athlete you push your body to the limit, and often injuries leave their mark on many riders, forcing them to stop; not because the motivation is lacking, it–s their body can&#8211t take it anymore– continued the Catalan, who in 2025 riding the factory Ducati had 18 race weekends, skipping the last four, winning 11 Grand Prix, including seven consecutive, and a beauty of 14 sprint races -. This winter I will work to recover, the hunger has not gone away: I want to win again. Right now, we&#8217re looking forward to the 26th″.

Marc Marquez in his MotoGP career has competed in 285 Grands Prix, winning 99 of them and standing on the podium 66 more times, started 102 times in pole position and set 88 fastest laps in races. In MotoGP he has run 207 Grand Prix winning 73 of them with another 53 podiums, 74 pole positions and 72 fastest laps.
