World Cup 2027, unlucky draw for Italrugby

It was not a lucky draw at the 2027 World Cup for rugby’s Italy. Quesada’s Azzurri ended up in Group B with defending champions South Africa, Georgia and Romania.
The World Cup will be held in Australia and will be the first in history with 24 teams: there are six groups, of four teams each, and the top two from each group and the four best thirds will advance to the round of 16.
The Azzurri will therefore have to contend for passage to the round precisely against a team, Georgia, which claimed to take Italy’s place in the Six Nations. Romani, on the other hand, is theoretically more affordable.
What’s more, the very third in Group B, in the event of passing the round, would challenge the first in Group F, whose top candidates for this role are Wales but especially England.
Here is the composition of the groupings.
Group A: New Zealand, Australia, Chile, Hong Kong
Group B: South Africa, Italy, Georgia, Romania
Group C: Argentina, Fiji, Spain, Canada
Group D: Ireland, Scotland, Uruguay, Portugal
Group E: France, Japan, United States, Samoa
Group F: England, Wales, Tonga, Zimbabwe
