MotoGp Ducati, Jack Miller: “Should we exterminate kangaroos?”
Ducati centaur Jack Miller weighs in on the wildlife problem at Phillip Island
The presence of a kangaroo on the track at Phillip Island during Friday’s first MotoGp free practice has caused controversy: Aprilia rider Aleix Espargaró brushed past the animal at a point where it was going over 200 mph.
Asked about the issue and the safety of the track, Ducati rider, and host, Jack Miller had his say, “It’s not nice to have animals on the track, but at the end of the day what are you going to do. I’m sure there’s nothing that can get in over the fences, probably that kangaroo was hiding somewhere and the noise of the bike attracted it. When you race at a track located in a place like this, you’re always going to have a problem with wildlife.”
According to the Australian centaur, there are no solutions: “What should we do? Exterminate the whole island? There are many animals and few people here, it’s different from anywhere else in the world.”
