The evening of regrets for Luciano Spalletti&#8217s Juventus: the Bianconeri came close to pulling off a feat in 10 men but then conceded in overtime and Galatasaray went to the Champions League round of 16. The Bianconeri team, which was starting from its 5-2 defeat in Istanbul, managed to retake the Turks by closing 3-0 in regulation time despite Kelly’s expulsion at the beginning of the second half, then was fatally pierced by Osimhen and Yilmaz in extra time. It ends 3-2 and Galatasaray, which will face either Liverpool or Tottenham in the next round, goes through.

Intense first half, Juventus tries to play the game, the first real chance comes outside the box with Locatelli. At 35′ the Bianconeri manage to break the ice: Torreira knocks down Thuram in the area, and from the penalty spot Locatelli scores with coldness. Spalletti’s team believes in it, and the Torinese are infuriated by the Turks’ constant time wasting, in trouble at the end of the first half.

In the second half comes an icy shower for the Stadium: Kelly is sent off after a clash with Yilmaz, initially for a second yellow card, then for direct expulsion. The Bianconeri protested, the disputed episode threatened to become very heavy. The Old Lady in any case does not give up and continues to make the match, Yildiz and Gatti try, but they are inaccurate.

At 70′ despite being outnumbered, Juventus found the 2-0: Gatti scored on a tap-in from Kalulu’s cross, and the Bianconeri believed more and more, in the face of a frightened and confused Galatasaray. At 77′ Thuram gobbled up his hat trick, Yildiz hit the post at’80’, but the 3-0 goal and thus the equalizer in the goal count was scored by McKennie at’82’ with a header, driving the Stadium crazy with joy. Yildiz in full recovery has a great chance for 4-0, but his play does not go in and it goes to extra time.

Juventus in 10 continued to command the game in extra time, but Galatasaray regrouped. Spalletti inserted Miretti for a distraught Yildiz, and before the end of the first overtime period the Turks scored the qualifying goal: on a ball lost by the Bianconeri, Yilmaz served Osimhen, who sprinted on the offside line and beat Perin with his right.

The team was able to score the winning goal.

It&#8217s a goal that cuts the legs off Juventus, which suddenly feels all the fatigue from being outnumbered. Spalletti’s team is overwrought and no longer has the strength to put the game back on its feet, at 119′ comes Yilmaz’s goal that closes the match for good.

The goal was scored by Yilmaz.
