Ralf Schumacher ruthless on Leclerc and Sainz: ‘Lesser team’
Former German driver very harsh on Ferrari strategy: ‘They really seem to want Verstappen to reconfirm himself as world champion.’
Ralf Schumacher made a merciless examination of the tensions at Ferrari between Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz: “If Ferrari, acting almost like a lesser Red Bull team, continues to help them in this way, then it will be easy for Max. You get the impression that they really want Verstappen to retake the world champion.”
To Sky, the former German driver doesn’t mince words: “For me they would like to support Leclerc, but there is no agreement on that between the two drivers, and I think you can tell by how hard they were on each other. Then at one point Leclerc was able to pull away. The origin of the problem goes back to Silverstone. Leclerc is still angry and there is no more team unity, the tension is palpable. At the moment I really don’t think the two would go on vacation together, they don’t even look at each other.”
