Roberto Mancini sets his sights on Inter and Romelu Lukaku
Roberto Mancini’s words
Roberto Mancini took stock of the upcoming season to Gazzetta dello Sport: “Milan, Inter and Juve ahead of everyone. Then I see Roma and Napoli. Inter’s defense has been dancing all summer. The 3 points will bring more concentration. The defenders are the same and have always been reliable. The point is another: Lukaku in Italy makes a difference. Does Lukaku’s return weigh more heavily than Perisic’s departure? Absolutely. Also because Perisic is an extraordinary player, but if Gosens does Gosens, Inter don’t lose much. It came within 2 points of Milan, not 20. And it has an extra Lukaku. Bastoni can become a great defender, but he has to go for it. This is an important season for him, too.”
“What do I ask of the league that is about to start? That Ciro Immobile continues to score lots of goals; that Pinamonti, if he goes to Sassuolo, as I read, can have an excellent championship; that youngsters, like Fagioli, can find space to grow in experience and personality; that coaches look for a courageous and entertaining game; that people can get passionate and find in soccer an entertainment in a moment that is not socially easy; that referees can serenely do their job; and that stadiums are always places of respect and sportsmanship. Happy championship to all,” Mancini concluded.
