Matteo Berrettini, winning comeback: Italy-Croatia 2-0
Second point comes for Italy
After Lorenzo Musetti’s success against Borna Gojo, Matteo Berrettini also raised the tricolor banner by beating Borna Coric 6(4)-7, 6-2, 6-1, thus giving Italy its second point in the Davis Cup match against Croatia at the Unipol Arena in Bologna.
To be fair, the Roman’s match does not start in the easiest of ways: Coric immediately goes ahead by three games, Berrettini recovers until the tie-break but lets the first set slip away after an hour of play. Having taken the measures against his opponent, however, the Italian tennis player left behind the difficulties of the first fraction and conceded just three games to his opponent in the next two sets, which were won without any particular anxiety.
The final success is important from the point of view of the group standings: victory in the doubles, the last remaining match against the Croatians, would in fact allow the Azzurri to move to the top of Group A, since in the other match Sweden won 2 against Argentina, which brought home a point.
