Sofia Goggia unveils one of her seasonal goals

Sofia Goggia, Italian skier class ’92, with the start of the new season just around the corner, indulged in an interview with the ‘Corriere del Veneto’.

Sofia Goggia expressed her feelings about the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics scheduled for 2026: “It will be an Italian Olympics in the true sense of the word. Cortina will have its importance as the venue for the women’s competitions in alpine skiing, ice disciplines and curling, but the whole territory will be involved, a planetary showcase to be exploited.”

He added a thought on the missed gold in Beijing: “The bitterness over those few hundredths that separated me from first place has faded. Coldly, the awareness prevails that I made a miraculous comeback after my knee injury. The result was resounding.”

“Seasons characterized by World Cups are always special because one needs to calibrate one’s preparation in the best possible way, but it is also true that to arrive ready for the races in Meribel it will be important to do well in the previous competitions, and the World Cup is a goal that can only be of interest, although one needs to move forward one step at a time,” he concluded referring to the World Championships scheduled for February 2023.
