Napoli, first knockout: Spalletti disappointed with some players
“There was a lack of quality as usual, we were slow.”
Luciano Spalletti to the microphones of Dazn spoke after the defeat against Inter: “They came at us, as they always do, with Calhanoglu on Lobotka, and there we had to be better at finding space in the three-quarter, behind Calhanoglu. But we didn’t succeed, we didn’t have the quality we always have.”
“The ball was always turning a bit slow, without going to dig space behind the two midfielders. Maybe there we can do more in the search aspect, actually with someone we were a little bit under level.”
In the first half despite ball possession Napoli was little seen: “Sometimes we tried, but Acerbi is strong on these thrown balls, from a physical point of view. You can play any way, but you need precisely speed and quality.”
Now the Azzurri have to react: “We train again better than we did and that’s up to me. Today the level was lower considering our chances.”
