Federica Brignone triumphs in Austria, fall for Sofia Goggia
Sofia Goggia took her first win of the season
First win of the season for Federica Brignone: the Italian skier won the SuperG in St.Anton, Austria, valid for the Women’s Alpine Ski World Cup. The skier from Valle d’Aosta with a time of 1’00″21 put behind the two Swiss women Johana Haehlen and Lara Gut-Behrami.
Federica Brignone achieved success number 21 in her career, an all-time record in Italian women’s skiing, and her 51st podium finish, allowing her to join Isolde Kostner in second place in the historical ranking.
The other azzurre: Marta Bassino finished eighth, Elena Curtoni 13th. On the other hand, Sofia Goggia fell: the Bergamasque, who was fighting for victory, slipped at high speed but immediately reassured everyone: no problem with her hand operated on a few weeks ago.
