Genoa and Reggina ambushed, Parma and Palermo now dreaming
Leaders’ pursuers fall, and two biggies authoritatively reenter the playoff zone.
Bitter Sunday for Genoa and Reggina, second and third in the Serie B standings behind only Frosinone. In fact, both lose on the road, with their respective opponents fueling their promotion dreams in no small part. They are Parma and Palermo, who after their successes rise to seventh and sixth place.
At the Barbera it ends 2-1 for Palermo, against a Reggina that could have picked up in the Sicilian away match an even worse loss. After Brunori’s penalty in the 47th minute and Soleri’s double in the 81st minute, interspersed with Marconi’s own goal that brought the amaranthos back into the game, it was in fact Tutino who missed from the penalty spot in the midst of the recovery the penalty for the tris. At the Tardini, on the other hand, comes a goal for time for Parma, which was able to beat Genoa 2-0. Great protagonist is Franco Vazquez, who in the 32nd minute packs the assist for Benedyczak’s lead and in the 53rd minute closes the accounts from the penalty spot.
