The “Lion King” announces his retirement

Fernando Llorente announced during the TV show “Movistar Plus” his desire to officially retire from soccer. “I have been untied for 8 months after my farewell to Eibar and I am happy like this. Now that I have left soccer to keep fit I will play padel or tennis.”

In the future of the “Lion King,” however, soccer will still be present, as on the one hand he will take part in the Kings League organized by Gerard Pique and on the other hand he will continue his experience as a sports commentator.

Fernando Llorente’s career ends with more than 650 games played and nearly 200 goals. The striker boasts 24 appearances with the Spanish national team, with which he won the 2010 World Cup and the following European Championship in 2012. At club level, on the other hand, he collected two league titles with the Juventus shirt (2014, 2015) and the Europa League with the Sevilla shirt in the 2016-2017 season. In addition, he has worn the jerseys of Athletic Bilbao, Napoli, Udinese, Tottenham, Swansea and Eibar.
