Ferrari, high expectations: the promise of Frederic Vasseur
A first crowd bath, which should not be a cause for unrest.
Frederic Vasseur experienced a hors d’oeuvre of the Italian fans’ love for Ferrari on the occasion of Charles Leclerc’s first laps at Fiorano behind the wheel of the new SF-23. But he also wanted to explain how all these expectations can turn into positive energy for the team.
“At Fiorano we experienced a beautiful event for all the fans, and felt wonderful sensations,” Vasseur explained to ‘Sky Sport.’ “We perceived all the passion towards Ferrari, which to start the season in the best way will be very important.
The Ferrari team principal then explained what the deeper meaning of the day was. “We didn’t have the goal of already testing the car on the technical front,” Vasseur confessed, “but we needed to feel all the emotion of the fans on our skin. They arrived from 5 a.m. with colossal expectations. We felt like we were in a small Monza.”
There is then a promise to all those who support Ferrari. “We feel the pressure, but what we have to do is live it in a positive way. When the first Grand Prix comes a good result can give us great optimism, and this should give us the same motivation for the following races. Which will have to be approached with the same approach,” Vasseur concluded.
