Ducati: Enea Bastianini crashed and delayed, but sees positive
Not an easy day, but comes the warning to teammate.
Enea Bastianini experienced a not easy Saturday at the MotoGP test in Portimao. The Romagnolo was the victim of a fall and in general obtained the highest time of the entire Ducati battery. However, he does not intend to give up, and in that sense at the end of the day he also sent a very clear message to his teammate Pecco Bagnaia.
“On both bikes we had to deal with two small problems,” explained Bastianini, 17th at the end of the day. “They were two small things, but they forced us to stand still for a long time. For an hour and a half I couldn’t ride, then in the afternoon I crashed. I wasn’t even giving it my all, I wanted to do a few laps before fitting the new tires. It was cooler on the track, though, and I went down.”
For Bastianini, however, the news is not all bad: “The balance is not as bad as it might seem. Apart from these problems, my pace is not too far from the Top 5. I’m still not at the level of the top three, and I’m not talking about the dry lap because I haven’t tried it yet. Tonight I will study the data well, and tomorrow there will be a lot of work to do. I want to make good use of the new Ducati, I definitely struggle a little more than Bagnaia. But we are getting there.”
