MotoGp, Pecco Bagnaia goes down flat on the case-Marc Marquez
Pecco Bagnaia’s statements at the press conference ahead of the French GP
During the press conference presenting the French GP, Ducati rider Pecco Bagnaia spoke about his feelings ahead of the Le Mans race and about the meeting with the Stewards Panel.
“This Grand Prix will be important, because the conditions will be difficult: everything can change suddenly in Le Mans. Last year I was very fast, I was fighting for the win, but I crashed. I’m sure that with the competitiveness of our bike and being able to read the track condition better, we will be fast. It’s always an unknown here, though,” said the Ducati rider.
“We know how difficult the role of the stewards is and it is right to have a meeting with them to try to understand their point of view and explain ours. But there is a need for improvement and more clarity. On the Marquez case they made a mistake: if they had written the first penalty in the correct way, it would have been right to have the penalty served in the first useful Gp. But they made a mistake and so it is right that Marc should not serve the double long lap penalty,” added the defending champion about his Spanish rival.
In conclusion, Bagnaia spoke about Danilo Petrucci, who will replace the injured Enea Bastianini: “I’m happy for Danilo and I’m sorry that Enea won’t be there, we need him in the box and it’s a lack that is felt. I think it is right to give this chance to Petrucci, who by the way won his last MotoGp race on this track in wet conditions. Especially if it rains, he can also be helpful.”
