Serie A, Monza strike: prestigious win against Napoli. Fiorentina beats Udinese
Monza-Napoli 2-0, Fiorentina-Udinese 2-0
They end 2-0, with success of the home team, both matches of the thirty-fifth round of Serie A scheduled at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 14: for Monza comes a prestigious victory against the newly crowned Italian champions Napoli, while Fiorentina defeats Udinese, detaching it in the standings.
At the ‘U-Power Stadium’ the Brianzoli, against a lineup partly re-staffed to give space to elements less employed during the season, go ahead on 18′ with Dany Mota, who does not miss the tap-in at the conclusion of a nice offensive action orchestrated by Palladino’s men. The doubling, however, came in the 53rd minute with Petagna, who collected a ball rejected by Gollini and deposited it into the net with a left-footed shot.
At the ‘Franchi’, however, the two goals came at the extremes of the match: Fiorentina’s lead was signed by Castrovilli in the 7th minute, who was good at beating Silvestri after collecting the ball kicked by Duncan and repelled by the crossbar, while the safety goal came in the 90th minute with Bonaventura, at the conclusion of a drunken personal action.
In the standings, the two winning teams both rise to 49 points, hooking Torino and pulling away from Udinese itself. For Napoli, today’s was just the fourth defeat in 35 league games.
