Lewis Hamilton no-nonsense about contract renewal

At the press conference presenting the Silverstone Gp, Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton wanted to provide updates on his future. “I think that before the end of the season we will have already concluded the contract renewal negotiations. I still have total confidence in this team and it will take time to get to the level we want, but I think we will make it by working one step at a time. We are also bringing an upgrade to this track, I am pushing as hard as I can and I am already talking to the engineers ahead of next year,” the British driver began.
“I hope the new front wing can take us in the right direction. It is not a huge package of upgrades but we are taking small steps to try to get as close as possible to our rivals. Austria was not a good weekend for us, but it is on these weekends that we learn more and get stronger,” added the seven-time world champion.
“I’m happy to be back here, it’s the best Gp there is. I had an accident here in my first appearance, but I always dreamed of being able to ride on this track. The crowd’s contribution is always mind-blowing because it gives an extra boost, it almost feels like sailing with their energy. They transmit a crazy force on the exit of every corner,” concluded Lewis Hamiton about the home GP.
