Inter, Beppe Marotta responds in kind to Romelu Lukaku
At the Trento Sports Festival, CEO Beppe Marotta did not fail to respond to Romelu Lukaku, who landed at Roma after a turbulent summer and who in recent days had been very controversial about his farewell to the Nerazzurri. Here are Marotta’s words, reported by the Gazzetta dello Sport website.
“Football è a sport where the God of money rules: Lukaku is part of a recent past, but I look at the present and the future. I don’t know what he means when he says that if he speaks, a mess happens: è very free to speak”.
“I do not think that the bench in Istanbul weighed on his decision: accepting Inter does not depend on a moment, but on a relationship as there was before, of trust and respect. We have a clear conscience, no corporate component disrespected him. The rest è a controversy on which we do not want to fall”.
“The whistles the fans are buying to challenge him? Let’s consider it a situation to be handled well, live in the present and focus our forces on that. The fans might experience it as a distraction at a time when the team needs their support”.
