Stop Jannik Sinner: the opinion of the sports physician

Jannik Sinner è was forced to skip Rome due to a hip problem and to preserve his physique: according to Gianfranco Beltrami, vice-president of the Italian Medical Sports Federation (Fmsi), the choice of the Italian tennis player è was correct and timely: "Athletes are not machines", he told the Adnkronos.

"It's right to stop to prevent a minor problem from causing a longer suspension of activity. It's a good message for all to hear from Sinner, which is to preserve your body".

"And he also stresses a fundamental element: pain è an alarm bell of our body. Never play sports when there'è pain. The first thing è stop. It's the precise request that comes to us from the body and we must listen to it".

Jannik Sinner will try to recover in time for Roland Garros, scheduled for later this month in Paris. After that he will begin the season on grass, while on the horizon is the Olympics, also in Paris.
