It è ended with a bang a triumphant Saturday for Italy at the European Athletics Championships being held in Rome. Delivering the third gold medal in just a few minutes was the highly anticipated Marcell Jacobs, who won the 100-meter final in 10"02, ahead of the other Azzurro Chituru Ali, who with his own personal best in 10"05 took the silver.
Shortly before, Lorenzo Simonelli dominated the 110 hurdles, imposing himself with a fantastic time of 13"05, a new national record that can also make people dream big ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Completing the trio of gold was the highly anticipated Leonardo Fabbri, who did not betray expectations by triumphing in the weight throw competition with 22.45 ,achieved at the fifth attempt, after having mortgaged victory with 22.12 at the second.
