Primoz Roglic master of the Tour of the Dauphiné
Slovenian Primoz Roglic won the seventh stage of the Tour of Dauphiné, from Albertville to Samoens 1600 with an uphill finish, strengthening his lead in the general classification. Roglic had also won yesterday’s stage in Le Colet d’Allevard.
Today the Slovenian was ahead of American Matteo Jorgensen, in third place Giulio Ciccone at 2 seconds, while Belgian champion Remco Evenepoel was 1'46".
In the overall standings Roglic has a 1'02" lead over Jorgensen and 1'13" over Canadian Derek Gee. Ciccone è ninth at 2'54". Tomorrow is the eighth and final stage, the 160.6-kilometer Thones-Plateau des Glieres, the third consecutive uphill finish.
