Paris 2024 Olympics, Marcell Jacobs explains the biggest change
Marcell Jacobs tells what è changed since Tokyo
On the strength of the gold medals he won, at the Tokyo Olympic Games, individually in the 100-meter dash and as a relay runner in the 4×100, Marcell Jacobs è inevitably one of the athletes on whom the Italian delegation committed to Paris 2024 is betting the most. The Gold Flames athlete, in an interview with 'Sportweek' explained what è has changed since the summer of 2021, the summer of his Olympic triumph in Japan.
"In these three years, with the Japanese golds symbolically around my neck, I have had many experiences, most of them unexpected,” he said. “At the time, I dreamed of having a good Olympics, hitting important results. And already; being there was a successful goal. Then, between 100 and 4×100, è what è happened. And my life è inevitably changed".
"I learned a lot, even from a sports point of view,” added the 29-year-old sprinter, explaining the biggest change.
I got to know myself better and better and became good at listening to my body. Even the negative events were educational: they taught me not to repeat certain mistakes".
The thing that Jacobs is most proud of, however, è is another: "Beyond"the other achievements, from the four European titles to the world indoor title, the’being myself,” he explained. “A simple guy, who likes to laugh and joke. Selfless and transparent. Cheerful and willing to see good in everyone and everything. Also very ambitious and, in that sense, capable of getting back into the game despite disappointments, with the courage to start from scratch if necessary".
