Two medals in one fell swoop for Italy in one of the first competitions on the second official day of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
In the shooting, men’s 10-meter air pistol specialty, the gold è went to China’s Yu Xie, but the other two steps of the podium are Italian.
Federico Nilo Maldini, a 23-year-old native of Bologna, took the silver medal with 240.0 points, only nine-tenths behind Xie.
On the lowest step of the podium, with the bronze medal around his neck, came Paolo Monna, a 26-year-old native of Fasano, with 218.6 points.
Maldini was at his first Olympic participation, Monna at his second: in Tokyo he had been 26th.
