Yamaha: Fabio Quartararo impatient, Alex Rins raises white banidera

It starts in the worst way the Silverstone weekend for Yamaha. During pre-qualifying, in fact, the updates brought by the Iwata team did not produce the expected results and Fabio Quartararo did not è go beyond 16th place with a gap of more than half a second from the tenth place valid for direct access to Q2. At the end of the session, the French centaur did not hide his disappointment.

"We are far from Q2. I expected a lot more from the bike updates we brought here at Silverstone. Unfortunately, it è not gone as we expected. We have to analyze and try to take a step forward for tomorrow. The feeling with the bike is not è of the best, so we will work on this aspect and try to be moreù close to the others. In any case, I think it would be important to do more laps and collect as much data as possible to try to take this bike to its absolute limit" these are the words of the French centaur.

It's gone worse for Alex Rins, who è made himself the protagonist of a bad fall at the end of pre-qualifying that has aggravated even moreù his not perfect condition, sinceè the Spanish centaur suffered a fracture in his hand during the Assen GP. Indeed, at the end of the session, the former Suzuki centaur announced his forfeit for the remainder of the Silverstone weekend: "After evaluating my health condition with the doctors, we came to the conclusion that the most responsible thing for me is to skip the remaining part of the British GP. As you can imagine, I feel sorry for the team and for myself. Every single lap we have done this season has è proved useful for the development of the bike and closing the gap with the other manufacturers. The pain I am experiencing and the risk of a more serious injury, along with the doctor’s advice, have led me to make this decision. I hope to be back on track and working again very soon. Thank you all for your support".

As also confirmed by Yamaha’s team principal, joining Fabio Quartararo for the rest of the weekend at Silverstone will be Remy Gardner.
