It will be a season full of stories to live the one of Numia Vero Volley Milano, which presented itself this morning just a few days before its first competitive event, the Courmayeur Cup, scheduled for Friday, September 20 and Saturday, September 21. In the prestigious Sala delle Colonne of Banco BPM headquarters in Milan, è was also announced the new partnership with Numia, which will give its name to the team and will be at the side of the European vice-champion training in its path in Serie A1 and in the CEV Champions League, the highest continental event for clubs.
At the press conference, conducted by journalist and writer Leo Turrini and the “voice” of Consorzio Vero Volley, Roberto Sciannamea, Alessandra Marzari (president of Consorzio Vero Volley), Fabio Pugini (managing director and general manager Numia), Giuseppe Castagna (Banco BPM managing director), Mauro Pastore (BCC Iccrea Group general manager) and Marco Tugnolo (FSI investment director), presenting the ambitious season that awaits the first women’s team of the Vero Volleyball Consortium, under the banner of novelties, including precisely the new name of the team. Also Carlo De Matteo (co-founder and COO MINT), Alessandro and Stefano Sudati (co-CEOs of Conteco Check, new jersey sponsor for the Milanese lineup’s libero players) and Alberto Rivolta (CEO Prenatal Retail Group), accompanied by Consorzio Vero Volley’s Marketing Manager, Gianpaolo Martire,
brought their testimonies.
Closing the event, the parade of female athletes marked one of the highlights of the day. Interviewed on stage, the captain of Numia Vero Volley Milano, Alessia Orro, Myriam Sylla, Anna Danesi and Paola Egonu, along with coach Stefano Lavarini and sports director, Claudio Bonati, launched the first official seasonal event with a league trophy up for grabs: the Italian Supercup, scheduled for Saturday, September 28 in Rome against Conegliano.
The women Consorzio Vero Volleyball s first women team, last year’s protagonist of the CEV Champions League SuperFinal that closed the 2023-24 season, changes its face again and also presents four Olympic gold medalists to look ever higher. To the confirmations of captain Alessia Orro in the director’s box, center midfielder Laura Heyrman and setters Myriam Sylla, Helena Cazaute, Paola Egonu and Nika Daalderop are added new faces for a roster with high ambitions. Numia Numia Vero Volley Milano gives a warm welcome to the two new libero, French Juliette Gelin and Japanese Satomi Fukudome. Along with them come Lamprini Konstantinidou at the setter, Hena Kurtagic and Ludovica Guidi, at the center, as well as Radostina Marinova, Anastasia Guerra and Elena Pietrini as setters. Expected return to the Vero Volley ranks for center – as well asé Azzurri captain – Anna Danesi, after a two-year absence. Revolution also on the bench with the’arrival of new coach Stefano Lavarini and assistant Andrea Mafrici, while the assistant coach, Luca Bucaioni, remains confirmed at his side.
