Welcome the Milan-Bologna duopoly

Pozzecco has è never been one to make trouble when there's certain statements to be made. In a lengthy interview with Corriere dello Sport, in addition to reiterating his support for Petrucci (who is ready to run again), the national team coach also talked about other topics, particularly the upcoming Italian Supercup, scheduled for Sept. 21 and 22 in Bologna.

"È a good test. I won it as a player with Varese in 1999 and then with Sassari in 2019. You always come to it with some tension and only those who win it at the end have no stress. Those who lose ask themselves: did I build the right team? Will the chemistry be what we wanted? Doubts can creep in. Surely every now and then we get away with some nice surprises", his clear words.

Pozzecco also dwelt on the championship with Milan and Bologna being the compulsory favorites, also because they are the two best-equipped teams in the entire tournament: "The two bigs have set up excellent teams, changing sì but also preserving a solid base. The duopoly if managed as we do in Italy where budget controls are strict – and this è another merit of Petrucci – has reason to exist and gives credit to those who make great investments", Pozzecco explained.

The national team coach però added the following: ". Però I donò t believe in a marked season. I see at least 10 teams capable of playing for a balanced and spectacular tournament. Where, I hope, Italian players" will find space. Willà be right?
