Obereggen two months from opening launches new initiative
A new promotion
The Latemar ski area, which stretches between South Tyrol and Trentino with the Bolzano resort of Obereggen (20 minutes from Bolzano) and its Trentino sister resorts Pampeago and Predazzo, will open its doors on Friday, Nov. 29, 2024 at 8:30 a.m. It will beà the first ski area to open the turnstiles of Dolomiti Superski, which celebrates 50 winter seasons this year. The highlight will be, Friday, Nov. 29, at 7 p.m. with the opening in Obereggen of night skiing on the illuminated slope, the historic Oberholz; the evening will continue with the opening party at the Apres Ski Loox at the valley station. From Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024 at 8:30 a.m. è the opening of the lifts and slopes of Obereggen, Pampeago and Predazzo and their connections. Night skiing and night sledding will be possible (Tuesdays and Fridays hours: 7-10 p.m.): last day of night skiing and night sledding will be March 28, 2025. The season of the Latemar ski area will end on April 21, 2025.
EUROPEAN CUP. The 41st slalom will be held on Monday, Dec. 16 on the Maierl slope (maximum slope gradient up to 55 percent). The Obereggen European Cup will, as usual, be a prelude to the traditional World Cup slalom in Italy, this year at the slalom in Alta Badia on Dec. 22. In the 2023 edition, the Obereggen slalom was won by Switzerland’s Schmidiger, second by France’s Amiez, and third by Austria’s Rueland.
JUNIOR PROMOTION. To celebrate the new season, the Obereggen Latemar Ag lift company will reserve a special promotion for junior skiers, raising the age to take advantage of the special ski pass from 16 to 18. A way to consolidate the bond between the younger generation, the historic ski clubs of Bolzano Verona, Brescia, Mantua, Vicenza, Modena, Reggio Emilia, just to name a few, who annually choose Obereggen, Pampeago and Predazzo, in one word: Latemar, as an ideal destination for one or more out-of-town trips.
RESPECT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT. Obereggen will start the 2024/2025 winter season with a new photovoltaic system. The goal: to cover more and more of its energy needs with environmentally friendly energy production in the coming years. Not only that. The company’s entire vehicle fleet Obereggen Latemar AG facilities (slope equipment and service vehicles) will be converted from conventional diesel to the environmentally friendly alternative HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil).
