Milan market, bid coming in for big summer flop

In the last summer soccer market session, Milan invested heavily to please Massimiliano Allegri and to become competitive again after a very complicated season with Paulo Fonseca first and Sergio Conceição later on the bench. The Rossoneri club has invested in every department, excluding goal (Pietro Terracciano arrived for free), to give Allegri a lineup capable of competing for top positions in the standings and hit the minimum goal: qualification for the next Champions League. Not all of the signings, however, are performing as expected.

This is the case, for example, with Christopher Nkunku, the most expensive purchase of the Rossoneri summer: the Frenchman left Chelsea for a whopping 37 million euros, a considerable sum that helped generate huge expectations about the center forward. From the start, however, his performance has been disappointing and he is already on the fringes of Massimiliano Allegri’s project. So far Nkunku has scored just 1 goal (in the Coppa Italia) and only in the last few outings has he given some positive signs, which, however, is not enough to guarantee him a future in Milan.

The Rossoneri club, at Massimiliano Allegri’s input of course, has already decided to sell Christopher Nkunku in the winter soccer market session and is looking for buyers. Fenerbahce and Galatasaray have already sounded the ground, especially the Giallorossi club given the very likely departure of Mauro Icardi (expiring at the end of the season but could leave as early as January). Igli Tare and Giorgio Furlani are hoping to find some interested club in the very rich Saudi Pro League: the sheikhs could shell out the 35 million euros demanded by the Diavolo for Nkunku’s card without too many problems.

Accordingly, Milan has already taken precautions with the temporary purchase with option to buy back Niclas Füllkrug from West Ham, where the German was now on the sidelines. On Friday, the former Borussia Dortmund man trained with the group for the first time, and there is great curiosity to understand the impact he will have on the Rossoneri.

In the summer, the Rossoneri management will set its sights on Dusan Vlahovic, whose contract is expiring with Juventus. Until a few months ago, his farewell to the Juventus club seemed a foregone conclusion, then the arrival of Luciano Spalletti increased his chances of staying, but should Massimiliano Allegri call, it would be hard for the Serbian to say ‘no’.
