Sarah Fahr agrees with Sofia Goggia

Volleyball champion Sarah Fahr, fresh from winning her sixth straight championship with Conegliano, spoke about her philosophy of life in an interview with Corriere della Sera and mentioned Sofia Goggia. Just like the ski champion, Fahr has also had to deal with several injuries in her career.
“The body has to be educated, the mind is a beacon that sends signals. I agree with Sofia Goggia when she says that injuries come at times when there are inner problems and unprocessed aspects.
“Coming to terms with an injury is like a tough opponent. By your side you have those who help you and support you, but then everything depends on you, on your will to get back to where you were, on your ability to overcome the ups and downs you experience during a long stop.”
Conegliano will soon face the Champions League Final Four in Istanbul: “We are four top teams, it will be a battle. We will have tough opponents, we will be the same for them. A final with Scandicci? It would be nice, also to make up for the defeat in the one in the Club World Cup.”
Unlike other athletes, Sarah Fahr forgave FIGC president Gabriele Gravina for his outburst about other sports being called “amateurish”: “I will surprise you, I don’t think he wanted to offend certain disciplines, but to point out that soccer has different and more complicated bureaucratic dynamics. In my opinion he just misspoke.”
