Inter and Italian soccer mourn the passing of Evaristo Beccalossi, a historical flag bearer of the Nerazzurri team. The former footballer and sports manager, who before serving in the Biscione team also debuted and played for the team of his hometown, Brescia, would have turned 70 in a few days, on May 12.

For a year his health condition had been critical after an illness suffered in January 2025 and a long period in a coma. The death occurred in the night between Tuesday and Wednesday at the Poliambulanza clinic in Brescia, where Beccalossi was hospitalized.

In his six seasons as an Inter player, Beccalossi played 217 games, scoring 37 goals. With the Nerazzurri he won the 1980 Scudetto, as an absolute protagonist, and two Italian Cups in 1982 and 1985.

Leaving Inter in 1984, he ended his career playing with the jerseys of Sampdoria, Monza, Brescia, Barletta and then in the amateurs at Pordenone and Breno. After retiring Beccalossi was a sports manager for several years and a TV commentator at Telelombardia, Italia 1, 7 Gold and Sportitalia.
