Pre-World Cup 2026 friendlies: Peru-Spain, likely lineups

European champions Spain take the field on the night (4 a.m. Italian time) at the Estadio CuauhtĂ©moc in Puebla, Mexico for a friendly against Peru, the last test match before the 2026 World Cup kicks off. De La Fuente’s Red Furies have stumbled into two disappointing draws against Egypt and Iraq in their previous outings and want to win to regain momentum ahead of Monday’s June 15 opener against Cape Verde. The South American selection, on the other hand, has been left out of the upcoming World Cup: in their last test match, they beat Haiti 2-1.
Cabrera, Vidales and Velez form Peru’s trident, which fields Carrillo, Noriega, Concha in midfield. The full-backs will be Sonne and Lopez, the central pair will consist of Garces and Barco.
A lot of turnover for Spain, for sure the two wingers Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams, great protagonists of the last European won by the Iberians, will remain out. In attack, Borja Iglesias could start from the first minute, with Ferran Torres, Alex Baena and Dani Olmo behind him. In the middle Gavi and Zubimendi.
Peru-Spain, the probable lineups
