With Roland Garros now behind us, the tennis world is gearing up for another major international event: Wimbledon. The London tournament kicks off on June 29, but until then, sports fans’ attention is focused primarily on the World Cup, currently underway in North America.

Against this backdrop, several tennis players were asked to share their predictions for the tournament. Among them was Jannik Sinner, who initially hesitated when asked which national team was likely to win the title, emphasizing how difficult it was to pick a favorite. In the end, however, he named France as a possible winner. As for the tournament’s dark horse, after a smile he replied: “Mamma mia… Austria.” Sinner, on the other hand, preferred not to speculate on the tournament’s potential biggest disappointment.

Matteo Berrettini and Lorenzo Musetti also took part in the survey. The Roman sees Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil on the top step of the podium, while both predict a difficult path for England, even suggesting they might be eliminated as early as the group stage. Berrettini also named the team led by Thomas Tuchel as the most overrated in the competition, while Musetti gave that label to defending champion Argentina.

Among the other HEAD players involved in the initiative, from Taylor Fritz to Alexander Zverev, the team most likely to win the tournament was Brazil, ahead of France. No one, however, wanted to name a potential individual underperformer in the tournament: a sign of respect and solidarity among athletes.
