Pescara pays dearly for the madness of one of its own fans

In the last round of Serie B, Pescara was beaten in a comeback by Sampdoria: Antonio Di Nardo’s penalty goal was answered first by Francesco Conti and then, in the dying minutes, by Fabio Depaoli. After the triple whistle the Pescara players, evidently frustrated by the result, took it out on the referee and the situation degenerated: a fan climbed over the barriers and entered the field fortunately without consequences.

The Sporting Judge avv. Emilio Battaglia decided to punish Pescara for €7,000 “for having failed to prevent, at the end of the match, the entry into the playing area of one of its own supporters who assumed an intimidating attitude toward an Assistant; attenuated sanction ex art. 29, paragraph 1 lett. b) CGS.” Padova was also fined €3,000 “for having its supporters, during the match, throw
some paper objects on the field of play; penalty mitigated ex art. 29, paragraph 1 lett. b) CGS.”
