Olimpia Milano, runoff for point guard: Pajola and former Brindisi in contention

While Peppe Poeta’s Olimpia Milano secures third place and prepares to close out the regular season, rumors are flourishing about the meneghino club’s big maneuvers ahead of the upcoming season.
In particular, the rumors focus on the point guard role. The departure of Quinn Ellis to the NCAA and the possible farewell of Nico Mannion are pushing the team to look for an Italian big man in the role: at the top of the list would be Darius Thompson, a naturalized Italian American point guard now with Valencia. Arrived in 2025, Thompson did well in Spanish La Liga and has a past in Italy: he played in Brindisi in 2019-2021.
The other name on the ballot, according to La Repubblica reports, would be that of Alessandro Pajola: the Virtus flag is leaving at the end of the season and is sought by several European clubs, especially for his defensive qualities. Milan also likes Andrea Calzavara, a talent from Udine, but only from a future perspective.
Not only directors, however. Olimpia’s market promises to be eventful also in the long department, where there could be significant upheavals. Josh Nebo, whose contract is expiring, seems destined to leave Milan: there would be significant interest in him from Barcelona. Ousmane Diop could also pack his bags, despite the esteem he enjoys within the group, complicit with the expected return of Paul Eboua to the red and white. A separate chapter for Zach LeDay: the almost 32-year-old, beloved by the Milanese public, is also going to expire and several top European clubs are reportedly on his trail, with Hapoel in the front row. A stay by him is far from a foregone conclusion.
