Germani Brescia’s loss in game-1 of the quarterfinals of the playoffs scudetto against Trieste stems mainly from the approach to the match. In fact, Coach Matteo Cotelli identifies in the first two quarters the decisive moment of the match, with Brescia unable to contain the offensive rhythm of the opponents.

“The analysis of the match is easy to make: we started too soft by letting Trieste gain confidence on offense, with 59 points conceded in one half – explained the white-blue coach. . We produced a good effort in the third quarter but in the final quarter we were lackluster with a few too many lost balls and more punctured defenses.”

According to the coach of the Lombardy team, his team allowed Trieste to play at their own pace: “In the first two quarters we allowed them to go at their furious pace, which is not in our basketball. On this we have to be much more ready in game 2.”

The Germani coach then called the group back to unity ahead of the next challenge: “We have to stick together, it’s easy to look for culprits or point fingers but we just have to stick together. What has brought us this far is our strength.”

Finally, Cotelli pointed out what, in his opinion, was really lacking on the night: “Today we really lacked a team attitude. We need to find that right away: if it’s there, there can be a lot of protagonists; if it’s not there, the basis for building everything falls down.”
