Official, Lille in Champions League relies on Davide Ancelotti

Lille has made official the arrival of Davide Ancelotti on the first team bench. Through a note published on its official channels, the French club announced that it has entrusted the technical guidance to the Italian coach, who has signed a two-year contract.
“LOSC Lille announces the appointment of Davide Ancelotti as first team coach. The Italian coach, who has worked at some of the world’s most prestigious clubs and national teams, has signed a two-year deal,” reads the club’s statement.
For Carlo Ancelotti’s son, this is an important new stage in his career. The 36-year-old picks up the legacy of Bruno Genesio, whose contract ended at the end of May, and is preparing for his first real coaching experience in a major European league. A prestigious and particularly challenging assignment, considering that Lille will also be involved in the next edition of the Champions League.
Davide Ancelotti already knows French soccer very well. In fact, between 2012 and 2013, he worked at Paris Saint-Germain as an athletic trainer on the staff led by his father and is fluent in the French language, an aspect that could make it easier for him to fit into his new environment. His official presentation is expected to take place in the next few hours, despite the fact that he is currently in Brazil, where he is part of the technical staff of the Seleção coached by Carlo Ancelotti himself.
In recent years, Ancelotti has built a career path full of international experience. After working alongside his father in such highly prestigious places as Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Napoli, Everton and Real Madrid, he has begun to carve out a space for himself that is increasingly autonomous. The spell at Botafogo was a significant step in his journey: in 55 games he averaged 1.67 points per match, leading the team to sixth place in the standings.
