Inter market: Atalanta does not discount Palestra, here are the alternatives

Denzel Dumfries’ suitcases are ready and the treasure from his transfer to Real Madrid is already earmarked for the restyling of the Nerazzurri’s right lane. Inter’s big target for the post-Dutchman remains Marco Palestra, a jewel owned by Atalanta and protagonist of a great season on loan at Cagliari.
Bergamo’s store is, however, historically very expensive and the international competition risks triggering an auction out of reach for the coffers of the club in Viale della Liberazione. For this reason, Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio have already activated secondary channels, blocking a series of alternatives ranging from safe used players to resounding international suggestions.
The hottest name at the top of the list of alternatives to Palestra is that of Dodô. The Brazilian full-back from Fiorentina is having good seasons in Florence, demonstrating a constant drive and good technical quality that would fit perfectly with the Nerazzurri’s needs. Accustomed to covering the entire flank, Dodô would provide the offensive drive and one-on-one quickness that Inter would risk losing without Dumfries. Negotiations with the lily club do not promise to be easy, but the inclusion of any technical quid pro quo that the Viola would like could soften the Tuscan club’s position.
In the last few hours, however, a candidacy that is nothing short of sensational has bounced back to the offices of the Nerazzurri headquarters: that of Dani Carvajal. The legendary Real Madrid full-back, a pillar of a thousand European battles, has reportedly proposed to Inter through his intermediaries, fascinated by the idea of trying an adventure in Serie A before ending his career. Although the player’s salary and age do not fit perfectly with the green and sustainable line drawn by Oaktree, the Spaniard’s international depth and winning mentality represent a possible great temptation for a team aiming to confirm itself at the top of the Champions League.
Lights are also on Dan Ndoye: the Swiss has already shown that he can plow through the wing with an uncommon leg and overflowing physical strength. Although he was born as a pure attacking outside forward, Cristian Chivu sees in him a potential transformation into a full-band outside forward.
Inter’s market is therefore at a strategic and economic crossroads. If the assault on Palestra should definitely fade in the face of Atalanta’s demands, the management will have to choose which direction to take on the right lane: the proven reliability of Dodô, the low-cost assault represented by Ndoye or the charm and experience of Carvajal.
