On several occasions, various figures in professional tennis have called for a review of the share of revenue allocated to players. Among them is Jannik Sinner, who has emphasized the need to revise the agreements to avoid finding ourselves in a complicated situation.

From this perspective, Wimbledon is a guarantee. The 2026 edition of the Championships will feature the highest prize pool ever, amounting to approximately 74.4 million euros (a full 10% increase over the previous edition).

As reported by The Sun, the All England Club has significantly increased the prize money for the 139th edition of the grass-court tournament to satisfy the top players who had requested a substantial raise.

The singles champions on the weekend of July 11–12 will take home an unprecedented sum of approximately €4.2 million, which is about €700,000 more than what Poland’s Iga Swiatek and Italy’s Jannik Sinner earned last summer. Players eliminated in the first round will now receive approximately €92,000, an increase of about €16,000 compared to the previous edition. Debbie Jevans, president of the All England Club, said: “We will always prioritize the players, both through prize money and by investing in our world-class facilities and the services we offer on-site.”
